CAPHE-ACESS Working Groups

CAPHE-ACESS Working Groups* are convened to develop specific resources or manage specific tasks that contribute to our goal of promoting excellence in healthcare ethics practice.

We currently have the following active working groups:

  • Practice Standards - finalizing the first set of practice standards for Canadian PHEs and identifying the fundamental expectations of our Members

  • Member Engagement - working to meaningfully include the participation of all those involved in healthcare ethics practice across Canada

  • Sustainability - working to ensure good governance and organizational continuity in order to achieve our collective goals

Previous Working Groups included:

  • Code of Ethics - developed of our forthcoming Code of Ethics

  • Empirical - conducted a survey of the practice of healthcare ethicists across Canada

  • Just to clarify, we have used multiple terms to describe these groups. In our early days they were dubbed ‘product development groups’. We now refer to them as working groups and sometimes task groups. You may see these various terms used in different places.
